Feature Request: Free clock - Shortcut or Global CC to start and stop

Hi,

I am using Ngen as the main and only sequencer for my mobile setup. Most people might not use it that way.

To start and stop the sequences, I need to go through these steps: Newbie Questions

I would like a short way to start stop the free midi clock anywhere in the process of using Ngen.

Request:

  1. Shortcut to start and stop (activate or deactivate) free midi clock or
  2. Global Midi CC to start stop free midi clock or
  3. New entry in menu settings to activate or deactivate midi transport.

I have the same use case. Stopping and starting must be the #1 most common operations, so a global for stopping and starting makes a lot of sense.

SOLVED:

I now use an external Midi Controller as Midi In for the NGEN. One knob of the external Midi Controller is mapped to Midi Channel 16 (global) with Midi CC 20 to Midi Start the transport of the Midi free clock with scale set to “0” and to Midi Stop the transport with scale set to “1”.

A second knob of the external Midi Controller mapped to Midi CC 22 whilst on Channel 16 helps to change the BPM of the Midi free clock.

Midi Clock in Clock menu must be set to Midi free clock.

Still, a global shortcut on the NGEN would work much more conveniently.
