Does ACDGEN work with MPC desktop?

In MPC desktop v3, my ACDGEN plugin doesn’t show up as a selectable AU plugin (as it does in Ableton), so I have to load it as VST3. Everything looks normal, its interface show it’s running when I hit play, but there’s no MIDI coming out anywhere. The MIDI monitor shows no activity, and the track I’ve directed its MIDI to doesn’t respond at all to the ACDGEN plugin track. Is there any reason to believe that ACDGEN is somehow incompatible with MPC? Can anyone verify?

Hey @blipson !
I haven’t tested it on the MPC DAW but I will give it a try and report back.
The AU version might not show up in Live (and probably in the MPC DAW as well) because it’s a AU MIDI FX and not an instrument but the VST3 version uses the standard methods for outputting MIDI which seems to work well for most DAWs, although the setup can vary quite a bit from DAW to DAW.
Perhaps there’s something specific about MIDI routing?

yeah, if you can give the ACDGEN VST3 a quick test in MPC DAW, it would be useful to simply verify that it can work.

Hey @blipson, I’ve been trying to look into this but it looks like the MPC v3 beta is only available for people who also have the hardware version :frowning:
I’ve been running in circles around their website but it seems the download links are added to the account under the registered hardware, is that correct?

I currently don’t have an MPC here at my studio but I’m reaching out to some friends who have one to see if someone can help me out.

OK. On my laptop, I do find Ableton much more useful than MPC anyway.
