Changing track while inside menu resets menu selection

Steps

  • Have track 1 and 2 setup with ACDGEN generator
  • Select Octave in Generate menu of track 1
  • Hold down TRACK button and rotate MENU encoder to select track 2

Observed

  • Menu selection is reseted back to “Generate”
  • This issue does not seem to be reproduced while selecting tracks using different generator (ex ACDGEN and APRER)

Expected

  • Menu selection could be preserved while navigating in menus across tracks using the same generator
  • That would greatly improve ergonomy

Thanks for the report @Ferloch! Yes I can confirm that this is the current behavior for the Generator sub-menu when changing tracks as in firmware version 1.1.2.
Without getting too technical about it, the reason for this is because of how the generator and midi fx sub-menus are designed in the framework (they work slightly different from other sub-menus).
I do agree that it’s a behavior that could be improved but I’d first need to make the menu system a bit more sophisticated. I will add this to my mid-term goals so I can hopefully address this in future updates.

No worries at all, that’s only a minor inconvenience
Although I will be glab when it lands, I see it as low priority
